Endorsement of Daylighting Resolution: The membership voted to endorse the daylighting resolution without discussion.
Coming Events: Seamus reminded the membership of the No Kings rally being held on October 18 in Manhattan and (at Grand Army Plaza) in Park Slope. Participants are asked to wear something yellow to signal that they are there for No Kings. There is a Day of Action in Southern Brooklyn on October 19 for the election of Kayla Santosuosso, who is running for the seat vacated by Justin Brannan.
Vera Zolotaryova, who is running for Civil Court Judge, introduced herself and said she is hoping for IND’s endorsement.
Danielle Noel, who is running for Civil Court Judge, introduced herself and said she is hoping for IND’s endorsement.
City Councilmember Lincoln Restler explained his position on Ballot Proposals 2, 3, and 4.
Claudia Breymer, representing Protect the Adirondacks, explained her position on Proposition 1.
Simone Lavin, representing Councilmember Shahana Hanif, provided a campaign update.
The recording was then turned off, and attendees not eligible to vote were asked to leave. (Those eligible were paid members for less than one year who had attended at least three general meetings or paid members longer than one year who attended at least two general meetings in the last year.) All six ballot proposals were discusse,d and ballots to be returned by the next day were sent out after the meeting.
Seamus announced that IND officers and executive board members would be nominated at the November meeting.
