Julia Elmahleh-Sachs, president of IND, called the meeting to order at 7 pm. She thanked President Emeritus Seamus Campbell for providing the meeting agenda.
Julia announced that the bulk of the meeting would be devoted to hearing from candidates for Civil Court Judge. Each candidate was allotted 15 minutes for a presentation and a question period.
The following candidates for Civil Court Judge, County Wide, made presentations:
- Danielle Noel
- Linda Lo Casio
- Celeste Felix
- Christine Ortiz
In addition, Janis Purvis, candidate for Civil Court Judge in the 6th Municipal District, made a presentation.
Julia announced several upcoming Club events:
- February 19, 6 pm, Induction of Judge Norma Jean Jennings at the Brooklyn Law School
- February 19, 7 pm, IND Endorsement Meeting on Zoom
- February 23-26, 5:30-7:30 pm, Petition Distribution in the Community Room at 10 Clinton Street
Seamus Campbell outlined the rules and procedure for the endorsement vote; this information will also be distributed via email.
Councilwoman Julie Won, who is running for Congressional Representative in the 7th Congressional District, made a presentation.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:16 pm.
