August 15, 2024 Meeting Summary

via Zoom

Seamus Campbell, President of IND, convened this special meeting and explained that it was called because our endorsed candidate for President, Joseph Biden, had dropped out of the race. We therefore need to endorse new candidates for President and Vice President,

The membership unanimously endorsed Kamala Harris for President and Tim Walz for Vice President of the United States.

Seamus announced that the Judicial Convention, which met last week chose the following candidates for Supreme Court: Adam Perlmutter, Chris Robles, Inga O’Neill, Jeffrey Sunshine, Keisha Alleyne, Lisa Lewis, and Sharen Hudson. The membership voted unanimously to endorse these candidates.

Carlos Calzadilla announced the launch of a new initiative: Disrupt Project 2025. The goal of this national campaign is to help voters understand the potential impact of Project 2025 on their own lives. The initiative is being led by young people, but people of all ages are welcomed and needed to move it forward. For more information, members are encouraged to go online to DisruptProject2025.org.
